Dr. Keshava Reddy may not be very popular among the readers today, but he is one of the all time great authors of the Telugu language. His books like "Atadu Adavini Jayinchaadu" (He conqueed the forest) are simply brilliant. He could be compared to the likes of George Bernard Shaw etc. His style is simple and elegant. His language is the lively local dialect of Rayala Seema region. His novel City Beautiful is a great page turner. it portrays the life of a medical student dring the course of one day. It makes great reading. It is written in the stream of concious (Chaitanya Sravanti) style. It is a very intelligent work. it ridicules the blind confirmance of the people. The main character's flowing thoughts present his independent streak, his resentment of people without any independent thinking are presented in a very suble humorous manner. |

It is surprising that Chiranjeevi is linked to the town of Ponnur this week in two different contexts. Firstly Chiranjeevi mentioned of his childhood in Ponnur. He was going to Mosque and doing namaaz while he was a kid in Ponnur. The very next day Chiranjeevi is linked to Ponnur in a totally different context. His involvment with the wedding of Chetan son of Katti Padmarao became contraversial. It should be noted that Katti Padmarao also hails from Ponnur. He was a lecturer there at the Sanskrit college. He was organizing student union related activities since 1970s. |

Now everyone knows that the name of Chiranjeevi's party is Praja Rajyam.However it appears that the name was apparently leaked . Some one named Raja Suresh Kumar Adapa registered the domain names Prajarajyam.com etc on August 8th itself. Currently this site does not have any content, nor does it give any plans for the future. Safety Issues at Chiranjeevi Meeting Movie star Chiranjeevi is convening his first major political meeting at Tirupati on 08/26. A huge turnout is expected. However safety precautions being taken are not very visible. Hopefully the organizers of the meeting would take care of the safety of the people attending the meeting. There is ample scope for stampeding, etc. Not sure if any medical and fire personal would be available on site. Another issue is the safety of the transportation methods. As such the night time journey or even day time journeys in private vehicles is very dangerous in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Hopefully the drivers to this meeting well drive safely without causing any bodily harm to themselves and others. |
